PRIORITIES

Building Pathways to Prosperity in St. Louis

The IPP is harnessing the people, resources, and data necessary to achieve inclusive growth and economic mobility. Over the next 10 years, we will co-design scalable solutions to address the barriers to inclusive growth in our region. We have already identified our first three priorities for solution design and investment: quality jobs, early childhood education, and affordable housing.

PRIORITY AREA 1: QUALITY JOBS

The Inclusive Prosperity Partnership’s first area of focus is boosting economic mobility through quality jobs. We are addressing employment for people with low incomes as a key lever for economic mobility.

Interventions designed by the IPP’s Solution Design Cohort will prioritize implementing research-backed strategies to increase access to each of these three core components:

 

  • Living Wage Jobs
  • Comprehensive Employee Benefits
  • Opportunities for Growth and Advancement

PRIORITY AREA 2: EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION

As the Inclusive Prosperity Partnership creates a culture of problem solving, the new processes will be applied to additional economic challenges. The next focus area will be early childhood education.

For parents to participate in the workforce St. Louis needs a high-quality, well-funded early childhood system. A structure that supports childcare providers, families, and children should be the norm for every child in the region, and we are committed to building this structure for our community.

 

PRIORITY AREA 3: AFFORDABLE HOUSING

The Inclusive Prosperity Partnership is committed to creating a foundation for economic mobility. The third focus area in achieving that goal is expanding affordable housing options for the region’s workforce.

Stable, affordable housing options reduce financial strain, support workforce retention, and enable families to build generational wealth.
